Mr. Paret, the Managing Director of The Acme Consulting Group, LLC, has nearly two decades of experience in the field of government relations.  His clients have included state agencies, county and municipal governments, educational institutions, and private sector corporations.  Mr. Paret is also a private investigator licensed by the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services and the Washington, D.C. Metropolitan Police Department, and is a certified compliance agent in Virginia.

Mr. Paret serves as the head of federal government relations for a large national association ($60+ million annual revenue, over 600 employees), providing leadership on legislative, regulatory, and political strategy development and implementation. 

Previously, for over a decade, Mr. Paret was a lobbyist with Jefferson Government Relations, a firm based in Washington, D.C.  At Jefferson, Mr. Paret served a number of clients, including major corporations, universities, trade associations, local governments, and state government agencies.  He assisted these clients by formulating, recommending and implementing strategies and policies to achieve their regulatory, intergovernmental, legislative, public affairs and political goals.  One of the main focus areas for Mr. Paret’s efforts was in securing authorization and appropriations for client projects and priorities.  Mr. Paret also had extensive business development experience, including proposal management and presentations to potential clients.

Before joining the private sector, Mr. Paret served as Intergovernmental Relations Officer for the Puerto Rico Federal Affairs Administration, where his portfolio included international affairs, justice, transportation and infrastructure, emergency management and the environment.  Prior to this appointment, Mr. Paret served in legislative and public affairs positions with the government affairs office a federal government agency.

Mr. Paret has written a number of published articles and studies regarding federal affairs and legislative issues, and has appeared over a dozen times on television news and political talk shows discussing political and legislative events. 

Mr. Paret holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the School of International Service of The American University in Washington, D.C.
